Land for the Future of our Children...

MIA has made enormous progress in five years. We have:
 
  • Completed the orphanage building which is now home to 43 children
  • Completed the nursery school which caters for orphanage & community children
  • Provided employment for manly local people. These include child care workers, a cook, a laundry person, gardeners, a shopkeeper, a social worker, groundsmen and guards
  • Established market fruit & vegetable gardens to supplement the fruit & vegetables requirements of the orphanage
  • Built a village store.
  • Installed a bore which is the only source of clean water in the area.  
  • Established regular health clinics with a Kenyan medical doctor in attendance each day.  
  • Built a maternity ward in our local area..  
  • Taken responsibility for the care of members of the community who are most in need and at risk.  


 In order to expand our services into the future, we would like to purchase the 40 acres of land, adjacent to the orphanage. Our vision is to purchase the land, build the 2nd stage of the school, a community centre & playground and increase the size of our market gardens to supply fruit & vegetables to those in need in the community.
 
The land is for sale for $170,000 and we have been able to secure it with a deposit using your generous donations so far.   
However, we need the remainder of the money so we can finalise the purchase and be confident to begin our new projects.

BUT we still need your help to raise the remaining $150,000.

This may sound huge but I have begun to believe that anything is possible so here I go...

Mission in Action is asking people to buy their own part of our project...

  • If you purchase 100 square metres of land you will receive a certificate of land noting that you have purchased this for Mission in Action. Cost $106.25
  • If you purchase 1 acre your name will go on a plaque in the Community Centre that we will build on the land. Cost $4,250
  • Of course if you purchase the whole 40 acres we will name the community centre after you or your organization!!! Cost $170,000

If 1,600 people donate $106.25 each we can do this!
It sounds like a lot but when you think of the size of this great earth it can be done... Please don't disregard this project because you think it is too big... It can be done, but only with the help of everyone..
