The week and a bit I spent at Mission in Action was a refreshing and homely interlude to my six month volunteering/backpacking trip around East Africa. Having been on the move for almost five months, my visit at the Nakuru Baby Orphanage was a delight and certainly one of the highlights of my time in Africa. Ivan, Mary, Rachel, Sarah, Martha and Sarah Rosborg are some of the most welcoming people I’ve ever met. As for the children…how can one possibly sum up those precious littlies?!? The kiddies of Nakuru Baby Orphanage are unbelievably sweet, a tonne of fun, hugely entertaining, and have an abundance of energy! I had a truly wonderful time (helping with the children, visiting a local clinic, collecting a new baby from the hospital, and going on an MIA safari) and cannot wait to revisit the orphanage when I am next in Kenya.
